5 Reasons Your LG Fridge is Not Cooling Properly

LG Refrigerator

Are you having trouble with your LG refrigerator? If the fridge is not cooling properly, it can be a major inconvenience. Fortunately, it’s usually possible to fix the problem yourself after determining what’s causing the issue. To help you troubleshoot, we have identified five common reasons why an LG refrigerator may not be cooling as expected. Read on to learn more.

1. Dirty or Blocked Coils

The coils located on the back or bottom of a refrigerator play an important role in helping keep the appliance cool. If they are dirty or blocked, this will reduce the ability of the coils to dissipate heat and cause your fridge temperature to be higher than normal. Check that all of your coils are clean and unobstructed—if they are not, use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove any dust and debris that may have built up over time.

2. Incorrect Temperature Settings

Sometimes a refrigerator isn’t working properly because it has been set too high or too low. Make sure you check both the freezer and fridge temperatures by consulting your user manual to find out how to access them (for most models it is a simple case of pushing one or two buttons). Once you know what temperature range is ideal for optimal performance (usually between 37-42 degrees Fahrenheit) you can adjust accordingly.

3. Bad Control Board

You probably won’t need to replace your control board very often but if you have already tried adjusting temperatures and cleaning coils without success then this could be where the problem lies. A defective control board will prevent your LG refrigerator from cooling properly so if all else fails this should be investigated further by an experienced technician as soon as possible.

4. Damaged Door Seals

A damaged door seal might seem like an obvious sign that something is wrong with your fridge but many people overlook this issue when their appliance isn’t cooling properly. If air is able to escape through gaps in your door seals then warm air will start entering and make it harder for your fridge to remain cold inside—so make sure there aren’t any tears or breaks in either seal!

5 Malfunctioning Compressor

The compressor is responsible for keeping coolant circulating through your refrigerator so if this stops working due to a faulty part then obviously things won't run smoothly! This is another issue which should only really be looked at by an experienced technician as they will know exactly what needs replacing in order for everything to start running again efficiently and effectively.

Conclusion:

It can be incredibly frustrating when our appliances don't work properly—especially when it's something like our fridge which we rely on daily! But before calling up an expensive repairman, try taking a look at some of these common issues first; chances are one of them might just be causing all those problems with your LG refrigerator! With any luck, following these steps will get everything back up and running again in no time at all!
